Barack Obama pokes fun at Donald Trump's prolific tweeting as he campaigns with Hillary Clinton for the first time.
President Barack Obama says there's never been any man or woman more qualified to be president than Hillary Clinton.
Mr Obama told a campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, he was offering his full support to the Democratic presidential candidate.
"I'm here today because I believe in Hillary Clinton, and I want you to help elect her to be the next president of the United States of America," he said.
He led the crowd as they chanted "Hillary! Hillary! Hillary!".
The president said nobody understands the top job until they had sat behind the president's desk.
Poking fun at Donald Trump's prolific tweeting, he said "everybody can tweet but nobody actually knows" what it takes.
To loud laughter, he said his daughter Sasha tweeted, but that didn't mean she knew what it took to be president.
Mr Obama emphasised his former 2008 primary rival's resilience, stressing she would not quit no matter how hard the challenges were.
"There has never been any man or woman more qualified for this office than Hillary Clinton," Mr Obama said.
Mrs Clinton hopes to reclaim North Carolina for Democrats in the 8 November election.
Mr Obama won the state in the 2008 general election but lost it narrowly in 2012.
Mr Clinton's trip with Mr Obama came the same day that the FBI said it would not be pursuing criminal charges against her.
FBI director James Comey made the announcement but attacked Mrs Clinton for using a personal email account to deal with sensitive information.
The North Carolina rally was the first joint appearance since Mr Obama gave his endorsement last month.
Speaking before Mr Obama, Mrs Clinton said he was a president who knew how to keep the US safe and strong.
She asked voters to compare that to Mr Trump and imagine him sitting in the Oval Office the next time there was a major decision.
Mrs Clinton said the world hung on a president's every word and that her rival was temperamentally unfit to be commander in chief.
