The band say they want assurances about security after rapes and sexual assaults were reported at Sweden's Bravalla Festival.
Mumford & Sons say they will not play a Swedish music festival again unless security is improved, after a large number of sexual assaults were reported.
The band were headlining the Bravalla Festival in Norrkoping, southwest of Stockholm, which ran between Wednesday and Saturday last week.
Five rapes and more than a dozen suspected sexual assaults were alleged.
In a Facebook post, signed by all band members, they said: "We're appalled to hear what happened at the Bravalla Festival last weekend.
"Festivals are a celebration of music and people, a place to let go and feel safe doing so.
"We're gutted by these hideous reports.
"We won't play at this festival again until we've had assurances from the police and organisers that they're doing something to combat what appears to be a disgustingly high rate of reported sexual violence."
There were also 32 sexual assaults by boys or young men reported at another Swedish festival - Putte i Parken in Karlstad.
The youngest victim was said to be 12 years old.
Police have identified seven young men they want to question.
Officers had been handing out bracelets saying "don't grope" at the Bravalla Festival.
Swedish prime minister Stefan Lofven has said the laws on sexual assault will be tightened, describing the situation as "totally unacceptable".
